Our Story

Stone Arbor Church is ready for a permanent home. God has established and grown Stone Arbor, all while in a temporary, rented location. We believe that God is calling us to do even more.

In 2020 our church family rallied together purchased the former Riverside Swim and Tennis Center and are now on a journey to make this space our church home. We have secured the land, renovated the current buildings, and are now setting out to further develop the campus. We’ve brought new life to a historic corner of Riverside.

We envision that God will use this new campus to bring hope and new life and hope to our community as we invite them to take their next steps with Jesus.  A completed campus is a foundational part of a much larger, kingdom vision.

Through a phased approach, we intend to continue developing this campus as God provides. We invite you to learn more about our journey and join us as we Build Stone Arbor.

A HISTORY OF GOD AT WORK

  • 2017 | VISION FOR PERMANENT HOME

    After 13 years of being a portable church, Pastor Josh and the Stone Arbor leaders began to develop a vision for a future, permanent home for our church. Not knowing what was ahead, our church family began prayerfully moving forward and giving in faith to raise funds for a property.

  • JULY 2019 | OFFER MADE

    After several other closed doors, we put an offer on the old Riverside Swim and Tennis Club, an abandoned property and the centrepoint of Riverside.

  • JANUARY 2020 | OFFER ACCEPTED

    Among many other offers and through a series of events that reflected God’s involvement, our Glenhaven property offer was accepted! Our church family rallies together to raise over $400,000 in 87 days for the down payment, allowing us to ADVANCE on the God-sized dream to one day have our own campus.

  • JULY 2021 | PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVED PERMIT

    Gaining entitlements to use the property as a church was a critical step. Without a Conditional Use Permit (CUP), we would not be able to use the land for church purposes. The process of getting a CUP was long, expensive, and not guaranteed. By God’s grace we were granted the CUP on July 22, 2021!

  • MARCH 2022 | PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTIONS BEGINS

    In March 2022 , we broke ground and began construction on our future church home! This required full design, construction documents, building permits - and funding! Construction costs, labor shortages, and supply line issues all made for poor construction conditions, but none of those were obstacles to what God wanted to accomplish.

  • FEBRUARY 2023 | PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTION COMPLETE

    After some setbacks and hurdles, we finally completed Phase 1. The Glenhaven Campus is now used by Stone Arbor family to host our administrative offices, church events, trainings, and more.

  • FEBRUARY 2024 | PHASE 2 FINANCIAL GOAL MET

    We set a God-sized goal to raise $800,000 for Phase 2 development. Our church rallied and many outside supporters joined in as well. We’ve saw God work and provide in incredible ways! We raised $892,000 in 93 days.

  • SUMMER 2024 | PHASE 2 CONSTRUCTION BEGINS

    Coming soon! Pre-construction on Phase 2 has begun.

OUR CURRENT PROGRESS

Construction Phase 2 has begun! Once completed, Phase 2 enables us to move all Sunday morning worship services to our Glenhaven Campus. The scope of this phase includes:

A 180-seat, multi-use auditorium with optional outdoor overflow.

A new driveway and upper parking lot to accommodate larger gatherings.

A new restroom building for an increased campus capacity.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Through the deep sacrifice of the Stone Arbor family & God’s faithful help, we’ve gotten this far. We intend to “keep a shovel in the ground” and ADVANCE as God provides.

PHASE 3 - REACH OUT

We will expand for growth by building the main auditorium and completing all on-site parking. 

PHASE 4 - BUILD OUT

We will build space for the next generation by adding a new Kids building and expanding the existing kid space.

PHASE 5 - PASS IT OFF

We intend to pay off all borrowed funds in order to free up future ministry.
