MEPs + Exteriors

MEP stands for mechanical, electrical, plumbing. It encompasses most of the “guts” (if you will) of buildings to make everything work. It’s the million connections running in the walls, ceilings, and underground for both wet and dry utilities, as well as data, communication and HVAC (air). A lot of time is needed to design and install all of the infrastructure, conduit, wiring, duct work, etc.

December through February was probably the big “MEP” season for our buildings. Once the framing was complete, all of the infrastructure could go in.

Simultaneously, the exteriors of the buildings saw a lot of progress. The wood frames and sheeting got weather proofed, scrimmed, then stuccoed. A big part of the front of our auditorium, and the whole back side, will eventually be finished with a corrugated metal detail.
